ExpressVPN Review

ExpressVPN is one of the best VPN providers that I’ve tested. In fact, I can say it is the best one I’ve seen so far, in terms of speed and stability.

I really liked ExpressVPN for the smooth way it connects to the servers and the absolutely incredible speed of every connection, especially those in Europe and the USA.
I do not want to say big words here, but it’s the product that I personally use, on my PC and MacBook.

On mobile devices I’ve seen it work on iPhone, but I have no doubt it works just as well on any other platform.
I have been using ExpressVPN for over a year and I have never had to contact customer service. Sounds a little unlikely, but that’s the truth. It’s a program that does not need assistance or special configuration.

ExpressVPN is stable on both PC and MacBook. Used on both platforms daily, it has not made any “hiccups”. If on MacOS we all know that programs tend to be stable, Express VPN has proved to be equally stable on Windows.
The interface is very simple and the configuration options can be left as they are.

Practically, the people behind ExpressVPN were able to make a piece of software that can be used by everyone, without additional configuration, and with optimal results.

You can use it to download torrents, to stream sports with AceStream and watch other live streams or just to stay private and anonymous when you go online.

The “Kill Switch” feature is auto-enabled. But what is “Kill Switch”?

It’s a feature that stops all Internet traffic if the VPN doesn’t respond or the connection drops. For example, you are downloading torrents and the VPN stops responding or the VPN connection drops, ExpressVPN will stop all traffic and the computer will remain disconnected from the Internet until you close BitTorrent and restart the VPN. You can check the Kill Switch on “Options -> General Settings”.

ExpressVPN works on Windows, Apple and Android devices. Additionally, it also works on the following platforms: Linux, Chromebook, Xbox, Playstation, Apple TV, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart TV, Chromecast, Roku, Kindle, Nook and others.

You can also setup ExpressVPN on your router.

ExpressVPN Privacy

What is AES (Advanced Encryption Standard)?

It’s a standard type of encryption, used by governments or the military to protect sensitive data. 256-bit keys translates to thousands of billions combinations required to decrypt, which is impossible.

With ExpressVPN, the traffic between you and the VPN server is encrypted. Also, the traffic you made through the VPN is encrypted.
ExpressVPN has a strict NO LOGS policy, that means they are not required by any authority to keep logs, therefore they just don’t do it.
Even more, ExpressVPN is based in an offshore jurisdiction (British Virgin Islands), so they don’t have to comply with any European or US copyright laws.

ExpressVPN Speed Test & P2P Policy

ExpressVPN is very fast when you are connected in Europe or North America. The download speed is somewhere between 25 and 30 Mbps and the upload speed is around 15-20 Mbps. This is more than enough for any type of streaming or torrenting.
In Asia (Japan server), the VPN is slower, as it is also in the Middle East. South America and Mexico have also very good speed.

P2P Policy

You can use torrents or streaming on every ExpressVPN server, as they do not have restrictions on P2P (peer to peer connections). If you are in doubt, you can always contact their customer service.
Hint: always use an European server when going torrenting. There are plenty of very fast servers in the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain or Romania.
